Mix and Match Meals

So how can you get it all done on those nights when one kid has scouts or lessons, one has a game or lesson, you have a meeting and everyone needs food – really fast? MyPrep Delivery answer is mix and match.

I almost always have make aheadentrees on hand to heat up in the microwave. Easy dinner prep is made possible by making ahead entrees. Just cook some veggies or make a meal. You can cook meals for the entire month by using once-amonth-cooking. This is a hard day. You will be tired at the end. But you will have your dinner entrees in your freezer. To help you get going, there are cookbooks with recipes, grocery list, and even plans. Grocery stores can provide great frozen options if you don’t have any.

You can also bake once and eat as an alternative to frozen meals. You can choose from chicken, turkey, pork roast, meat, or beef. You can also make meatballs. Imagine all the possibilities you have when you have a piece of ham in your kitchen. My suggestion is to make each meal different. One suggestion is to roast chicken and make bar-beque chicken sandwiches; bake ham then chef salad, ham/potato soup; turkey breast then turkey tacos. Tetrizini is another option.

A slow cooker is a great option for quick meals. It is important to make sure the cooker is turned on before you leave for work in the morning. Many times, we’ve returned to our homes to find a cold slow cooker with no cooking. The slow cooker can cook most dishes, as long as it has reduced water. I love the smell and taste of slow-cooked chicken. The whole chicken is just added to the pot. To add more flavor, you could also add onions, celery, and carrots. In a slow cooker, roasts can be prepared with dry onion soup mix and 1/2 cup water. Of course, you can bake both chicken or roasts in the same slow cooker.
